I have all my music on an external hard drive. Streaming here is a big island no-no except for youtube. Both of these are likely to be taken away soon too (IT nazis).
Pandora, set to a mix. Lynyrd Skynyrd was on when I started typing, followed by America, and then Alison Krauss. Next might be Bob Wills, or Albert Collins, or Stevie Ray Vaughan, or Guy Clark, or Otis Redding, or Motown, or Patsy Cline, or Hank Williams, or Ray Charles, or.....
Any classic rock on my iPod or iPhone. Any online sites are blocked.
Pandora, set to one of several classic rock artists. Lynyrd Skynyrd is playing right now. Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, some Motown. Queen! Gotta have Queen in there. ELO, Alan Parsons, Pink Floyd, Elton John, John Denver, Harry Chapin. . .
I heart Radio App on my phone.
Set to "Uplifting Contemporary Christian Hits" UP!
I don't know Dan, I prefer THEBLAST.FM. They do have TheBlastBlender which might be more your speed. I prefer Heavy Metal Christian music, usually saved to my hard drive or on my phone as streaming is also bad here.
and my genre of choice is new rock. My taste is constantly moving forward.
My Boss - Complaining that people are playing the radio too loud and not working.
Spotify, and listen to most genre's depending on my mood and workload... heavy rock/metal/punk is the go to for busy times!
We have radios blarring in the sheds playing Triple JJJ, and Triple MMM for the elderly.
Funny this post pops up cause the boss is streaming Radio Rock New Zealand.
I personally prefer PUNK ROCK!
Well Played Rick Becker!
(I say this, because I thought about posting something like this all day long . . . something, something, great minds . . .)
We are also blocked from streaming - I really miss The Current (Minnesota radio station) and Pandora!
(When I am working on "fun stuff" at home I will listen to Pandora)
- Fave stations are Guardians of the Galaxy and Me First & the Gimme Gimmes
At work it is usually whatever is on my phone, which is a pretty eclectic mix
- Soundtracks provide a wide variety of tunes
(Grosse Pointe Blank, Swingers, The Wedding Singer, Empire Records, Clerks, Guardians of the Galaxy are some favorites)
- Some of the bands from today - Alice Cooper, Beastie Boys, Barenaked Ladies, David Bowie, Jimmy Eat World, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, They Might Be Giants, ABBA, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Tenacious D, Green Day
(I need to change up some of the music on my phone, there is some stuff that I haven't listened to in a long time.)
Sometimes podcasts are good, but I usually want background noise that doesn't "pull my focus" away from my work.
I work from home, so I can indulge
- bootleg concerts of my favorite bands (Kansas, Yes, Jethro Tull, Rush are foremost on the list)
- interviews / documentaries of those bands
- aviation documentaries
- TED talks
- NSFW comedy
- Theological debates (probably more NSFW than the comedy in many cases)
- History/geopolitics--how did the world get to where it is today?
most of time Youtube, Best of 80s & 90s
Just now it's Smooth Criminal , Michael Jackson
Hum of the ceiling fans blowing hot or cool air depending on the time of the year.
